The Mount Gaunton showing is located 2.5 kilometres south of Outram Lake, about 25 kilometres south of Stewart.

The showing area is underlain by volcanic and volcaniclastic strata of the Lower to Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group. In 2006, a rock grab sample (270643) of pyritic mudstone at the contact with volcanics analysed 0.16 per cent zinc and 1.9 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 28961).

In 2006, an exploration program consisting of geological mapping, prospecting, and geochemical rock and soil sampling was conducted by Mineral Hill Industries Ltd. on their Praxis property which covers the Mount Gaunton area.
